One Scrap at a Time

Here are two more flowers made using the Flower Shoppe Cricut Cartridge. The technique used in both of these flowers are the same, just different flower cut, size and paper type. Hope you enjoy and it inspires you to make your own. (share if you do). ~Tee

I have gotten a lot of very positive feedback on my roses made with the Flower Shoppe cartridges that I decided to make a video to walk you though making them.  My niece is asked me to help make her some props for a photo shoot she has coming up for Homecoming. I was given a credit and used it to purcahse the Mask - Earthly Elements file from the CCR and transferred it to my Gypsy... I am having so much fun making these - we are going to add a stick to the left side so they can hold them up.

Each week I do a Cricut class at my LSS and need to come up with a project that can be easily recreated by 55 to 60 Students that teach them new techniques using the Cricut. This week I am teaching them how to FLIP - I had a tough time coming up with a project so I decided to make a birthday card with a window cut out of the center and make the Ice Cream twice (one flipped, so it would be a mirror image) and glue them back to back so you have the ice cream on the front and inside.... Not the cutest project I have ever made but it works! ~Tee

I am offering another class at Hearts-n-Crafts on making these roses using the Cricut Flower Shoppe Cartridge... I made these using white smooth cardstock and inked each with a different color. Yellow is 2 1/2", Purple 2" and pink is 1 1/2" and by far the most difficult to make because of the size!

Here is my latest cake using my Cricut Cake and MMF. I used a SVG file and MMF for the fondant Elmo on top of the cake and Sesame Street Cricut Cartridge for the Elmo on the Box.  The box is a SVG file I created awhile back that opens in the front making it easy to slide the cake out.  I made a HUGE mistake on this cake and once I discovered it I felt horrible - - Joanna is 6 years old not 9... I knew that in making the cake but didn't pay much attention when I added the 6/9 to the cake... ugh! Attention to detail Tee... Thankfully, my customer could easily remove the age and flip it around and she didn't seem upset at all... whew!

About a year ago I came across a card that looked 'somewhat' like this one and knew I had to buy the Elegant Edges Cricut Cartridge..... I love the versatility of this cartridge and think it is becoming one of my favorites. Recipe: Elegant Edges - (Eyelet2) 5"                       - (Circles) 3" Accent Essentials - (Acct4s) 4 cut at 2.5, 2.25, 2.0 & 1.75 then distressed with water

 It is a beautiful warm day here in Sunny California so I was inspired to make a Simply Sweet card for my next Cricut class using circles from Basic George and just fold them in half. Here are some roses I made using Flower Shoppe - - I think these are my favorite so far!!! Here is how I made them.. 1) Cut 4 flowers at the size of your choice. The yellow/orange are at 2" and the pink is at 2 1/2".  Ink your edges on both sides. 2)  Using something round and cup each pedal and glue the tab to close flowers. 3)  Cut down each pedal very close to the center. 4) Take one pedal from one flower and roll into a cone. This is the center of your flower. 5) Take all the other pedals on this one flower and wrap around the center. 6) Cut the bottom off and glue to the center of the second flowers. 7) Add glue to the center of each pedal on the second flower and push into the center. Using your pedal roller pull back the top of the pedals and curl under. 8)  Pinch and curl the edges of the last two flower. 9) Glue all together alternating pedals... Now the fun begins.... Play with it until you have the look you want. ~Tee

Hi All, 4th of July is just around the corner. I wanted to make something to hold the silverware (err plasticware) and napkins for each table. I saw this basket online somewhere and wish I could give credit to it's original designer but I can't find the website so I recreated it by memory and am here to share with you how I did it. Supplies: 12x12 Sheet of Paper (or 6x6, 9x9) ScorePal Adhesive 1 1/4" circle punch (or cut from your cutter ) Embellishments of your choice Let's get started. 1) Score your paper at 4" and 8". Turn and Score again at 4" and 8" (basically divide your paper into three sections) 2) Cut down the score lines at 4" and 8" down 4". (basically down one box on each end, see sample) Then cut the center flap into a triangle and both side flaps into thirds. Quite a while ago I saw the cutest 3D Flip Flop SVG file for free and just fell in love with it but wanted to see if I could make it use my Cricut and Cartridges. I first used the Cricut Craftroom to edit the flip flop from Life is a Beach and hid the contours on the top of the flip flop. I then added a rectangle from Plantin SchoolBook for the straps... I transferred the file to my gypsy and TADA... Here is what I came up with.

One of my scrapbooking friends asked me to make her a Hello Kitty Cake with a matching cake box similar to the one I made for my sister-in-law last year for her Birthday. I used my Cricut Cake and the Hello Kitty Font and cut out Wilton Sugar sheets for the cake. They are so easy to use except for the white - I had to use two layers of white and pink to hide the black from showing through. I love the outcome. ~Tee

 Two posts in one day? Wow! I am still playing with the Wild Card 2 Cricut cart and lots of scrap papers. I added these clear skittles to make it look like water. ~Tee

I recently bought the new Wild Card 2 Cricut cartridge and couldn't wait to play with it - there are so many adorable projects, too many to choices!!!  After looking through the book two or was it three time? I choose to make this owl card first using some scraps of Echo Park paper I had in my stash. Not your typical colors but didn't it turn out cute? eeekkkkk
